John Crandon is an attorney based in San Francisco, California. As an entrepreneur, he raised over $80 million in venture finance for early-stage companies in software, hardware and biotechnology.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Crandon founded two successful software companies and served as a Senior Strategy Consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, where he worked extensively with technology, pharmaceutical and healthcare Fortune 200 companies. He also spent time with the venture capital firm General Atlantic Partners.
In addition to a Juris Doctorate from Stanford Law School, Mr. Crandon has graduate degrees in Molecular Biology and Economics from Oxford University, where he received High Honors studying as a Rhodes scholar. He completed a post-graduate research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He has undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry and Political Science from Stanford. Mr. Crandon's work and research has been published in scientific journals such as Nature Biotech. His other honors include serving as a Henry Luce Foundation Scholar in Japan and being awarded Fulbright and Rotary Scholarships. Mr. Crandon has lived and worked in Europe, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Venezuela, and Mexico. Mr. Crandon is a member of the State Bar of California.
