I'm an employee's HR attorney.
Before founding Gabel Law Firm, P.C., I practiced employment law at two large law firms in San Francisco. I've represented clients in federal and state court and before federal and state administrative agencies in matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, claims for unpaid or underpaid wages, wrongful termination, and breaches of contract. My background spans the entire range of laws and issues impacting the employer-employee relationship, including traditional labor (union) law.
I focus on helping employees and independent contractors, especially executives and professionals, to understand and defend their rights in the workplace. I advise them about how to navigate the “HR Maze” to try and resolve issues while they are still small, and helps them to negotiate employment-related contracts, including employment and severance agreements. I reject a cookie-cutter approach. Instead, I carefully consider each client’s situation and help them to understand all of their options, including (but not only) litigation. When appropriate, I aggressively pursue lawsuits and/or arbitration to help clients achieve goals.
I also provide preventative advice and training to employers on a variety of employment law issues.
